Sankofa is a South Australian community programs and support services organisation, built for people who have been overlooked, underestimated, or left behind.
Sankofa exists because too many people are asked to fit systems that were never built with them in mind. Young people carrying more than their share. Families who arrived here ready to contribute and found closed doors. People living with disability who are handed programs instead of pathways.
We are a multidisciplinary community programs and support services organisation based in Adelaide. We deliver evidence based community programs, support services, and capacity building initiatives, all driving toward the same three things - social inclusion, physical wellbeing, and economic independence for people facing systemic barriers.
The name Sankofa carries a simple teaching - go back and get what matters, and carry it forward. We bring culture, story, and lived experience into every program. Sankofa is led by people who have experience within the sectors and are leaders in it.
Whether you arrive alongside a community organisation, as a young person, through a school, or through the NDIS, the goal is the same: real skills, real belonging, and a real path to what comes next.
Whether you commission programs, fund them, or deliver beside us, there is a clear way in.
Commissioned programs with transparent reporting: outcomes you can take to a minister.
Place-based programs co-designed with your community teams, from youth employment to skills hubs.
Referral pathways, shared delivery and honest data. We would rather partner than duplicate.
