Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee where it has been cultivated for over 1000 years.  This delicious, top quality Sidamo Ethiopian Gold coffee is produced from freshly picked, fully ripe coffee 'cherries' grown in southern Ethiopia.

Ethiopian Gold coffee comes from a group of grower co-operatives throughout the Oromia Region of Ethiopia.  These growers are paid a higher price for their beans (a minimum of 70% higher) by selling through the fair trade system.  In addition to this, a fairtrade premium is also collected from the export buyer, which funds community projects for these farming communities.
