The Oliver Mtukudzi Collection features some of the most enduring and appealing songs by this legendary figure in contemporary African music.

Tuku as he is known in his native Zimbabwe, sings of everyday life in a society plagued by social and political dilemmas. His lyrics also incorporate metaphors and folk tales, and carry powerful and meaningful messages.

The tracks on The Oliver Mtukudzi Collection were selected from the powerful recordings of the "Tuku" years from 1998- 2002. It features several songs unavailable outside southern Africa along with two rare live tracks, including his performance of “Hear Me Lord” which was recorded by Bonnie Raitt on her recent album Silver Lining.
