Employment Readiness & Skills Development. Building essential workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, professionalism, resume writing and interview preparation.
Financial Literacy & Workplace Rights. Developing an understanding of payslips, superannuation, employment conditions and financial responsibilities.
Career Pathways & Opportunities. Connecting participants with training, work experience, industry networks and potential employment opportunities.
Confidence & Personal Development. Strengthening self-confidence, motivation, goal setting and the ability to navigate workplace challenges.
Entrepreneurship & Independence. Introducing participants to self-employment, business fundamentals and alternative income pathways.
Sustainable Employment Outcomes. Supporting participants beyond the program through employment referrals, ongoing guidance and pathways towards long-term workforce participation.
Clean Start is Sankofa’s flagship employment program, delivered in partnership with government agencies, community organisations, employment service providers and other funded organisations. More than a job-readiness workshop, it is a structured program designed to achieve measurable employment, skill development and independence outcomes.

Mind In Mind
Through interactive workshops, facilitated conversations, mentoring and peer-led activities, the program creates safe, inclusive spaces to explore mental health, cultural identity, family relationships and the challenges of navigating different cultural expectations.
Grounded in cultural understanding and lived experience, Mind In Mind aims to break down mental health stigma, strengthen intergenerational relationships and empower individuals and families to build resilience, seek support and improve their overall wellbeing.
Program Outcomes
Mental Health Awareness & Wellbeing. Building mental health literacy, emotional resilience and confidence to recognise challenges and seek appropriate support.
Cultural Identity & Belonging. Exploring cultural identity, lived experiences and the intersection between cultural expectations, personal values and mental wellbeing.
Family Relationships & Intergenerational Understanding. Strengthening communication, parenting relationships and mutual understanding between generations within migrant and multicultural families.
Breaking Mental Health Stigma. Challenging cultural misconceptions, encouraging open conversations and creating supportive environments where mental health can be discussed without judgement.
Youth Voice & Peer Leadership. Empowering young people and community members to lead conversations, share experiences and become advocates for positive mental health within their communities.
Support Pathways & Community Connection. Strengthening social connections and improving awareness of, and access to, culturally appropriate counselling, mental health services and additional community supports.
Mind In Mind is a community mental health education, early intervention and wellbeing initiative, not a clinical mental health service. Professional counselling and therapeutic support are accessed through appropriate referral pathways.
